a light at the end

Our impromptu renovations are slowly being completed. We may have a dining room back by the end of this week.

Easter has come and gone, preceded by a whirlwind of practices and intense work, culminating in a really fun celebration on Sunday morning.

My garden is beginning to grow. I've had coffee out on the deck several mornings this past week. Those few minutes of morning peace feed my soul.

Lectures are over, just one more review, and final exam in less than two weeks. Lots of studying to do to get there, but that'll happen.

I went running today. My calves protested a bit, but the sound of my own breath in my ears, and the sense of my body working while my mind slowly began to unwind, was very welcome.

As Spike pointed out to me this morning, I have my dream home (small and dusty though it is), my garden, a great job and people in my life whom I love and who love me. I have a lot for which to be thankful.

All this to say ... there's a light at the end of this particular tunnel.

For which I am very grateful.

Also ... a bird crapped on one of Spike's spikes this morning, out there on the deck. Which was pretty darn funny.
