vacation Valentine's Day

I'm going to level with you.

We both forgot it was Valentine's Day.

I remembered when I went on Facebook and saw everyone else's statuses (statusi? statusum?).  Whatever.  Some of you are very loving on Valentine's Day.  Others ... a little bitter ...

I mentioned it casually to Spike who went slightly pale, until I told him I hadn't remembered either.  We decided to play Lego Batman in honour of the day.  Then I went to class.  Then he went to play squash.

At 10:00 PM, we danced in our living room to the sound of the music in our heads, and then collapsed in laughter, because, let's face it, I am not a good dancer.  Then we got in the car and drove to a 24-hour grocery store which was empty except for one poor soul desperately perusing the few remaining Valentine's cards.  We looked at weird produce, and various kinds of seafood, and cinnamon buns that would definitely not taste as good as they looked.  Finally settled on mini chocolate chip cookies, chocolate sauce, and white-and-dark-chocolate ice cream.  Went home, made cold sundaes and hot coffee (because I realized the pounding in my head was a caffeine headache - I'm not proud of that) and sat together on the couch happily watching late-night TV.

It was perfect.
