twitter time

Oh ... yes ... you saw the new widget over there? ===>

Ok, here's the thing. A few weeks ago, I got to speak at a seriously awesome event. Golly, I just realized it was over a month ago. At the beginning, they announced that "as always" the students could tweet at will, and there was a specific hashtag they should use, so that all the tweets would converge in one place.

And ... um ... well, I wanted to know what was being said.

So I'm in the twitter crowd now. It's not too bad. My local newspaper tweets, although I'm >this close< to unfollowing them because they tweet ALL THE LIVELONG DAY!!!

I've had a couple of moments when I wanted to track down a quick answer or response, so I tweeted, and others retweeted, and BANG - there was the answer.

That was cool.

My niece is a crazy re-tweeter. CRAZY. I did not know this about her. I feel closer to her now.

Rick Mercer tweets, but he doesn't tweet funny things. Which is a letdown.

Ted Talks tweets. Try saying that ten times in a row. Or even once.

I stopped following one leadership guru because all he tweeted was "Here I am at ___ event with ___ person". I don't care about that.

There are also a bunch of people following me that I have never heard of. I don't know why they're here. I keep looking over my shoulder at them, eyebrows raised quizzically.

I don't really have the hashtag thing figured out. I thought I understand the point, but then some people use it like a bullet list. #seemsrandom #idontreallygetthat #whatisthisforanyway

Although I am now a Twitter-er (tweeter?) I did remove myself from Google Plus. No one noticed. Because no one is there. #facebookwon

Speaking of ... I wonder if anyone is still here?
