"All words are symbols that represent unspeakable realities. Which is also why words are magical." (Donald Miller tweet)

I need a massage

Back in class last night. I missed 9 hours of classes while away, so I've got some catching up to do. It's a stats course. You may suspect (correctly) that since I'm obviously a words person, the corollary of that is that I am not a numbers person. I can do numbers. But I don't love them.

The good news is: I took an earlier course with formulas and stats (with the added joy of a prof who literally said he "just didn't care" if we didn't understand). So some of this is actually familiar. Imagine that.

The bad news: no idea where the "sigma" key is on my laptop. And forgot a pen last night. So I kept typing things like "sigma" and "x with a line above" instead of the actual mathematical symbols.

Good news: prof goes out of his way to be helpful to people who missed 9 hours in order to vacation in Ukraine.

Bad news: lab computers are Windows-based desktops, set up for right-handed people taller than me with super-swivel necks. All muscles above the waistline threatened a full-on knot-strike. My whole right arm was screaming at me - "what is this lump of a mouse thing you're making me push around?"

I haven't used a desktop in a long time....

Good news: I used Windows for a lifetime before switching to Mac. I still remember how to right click.

Good news: You guys. I'm more than halfway through this blessed degree!
