Well - it's back to school for me today.
I haven't been since May or early June. I'm a little nervous when I think about it - I'm not in the routine anymore.
So I just don't think about it! After all, I survived the first couple of years. Logic suggests I'll survive this one too.
And thus begins the annual Busiest Time of My Year. I'm not entirely sure why. It's probably due in part to snowstorms which can take hours out of one's day, what with shovelling and getting one's car unstuck. (Hmmm, maybe I should have looked at that snowblower ...)
It's definitely due in part to our church's Annual Business Meeting in March. There's a lot of bureaucratic paperwork and procedures leading up to that. Bleah.
It's definitely due in part to Easter coming right after the ABM. I sent a memo to the Pope about a possible change in Easter dates, but he hasn't had a chance to respond yet. He's busy. I get that.
And it's probably also due in part to the fact that ... well ... I like to sit in front of my fireplace at this time of year, and that kind of ... well ... induces napping.
And napping is very, very good.
So I'm changing my language. It's not a Busy Time of Year. It's a Full and Exhilarating Time of Year, with a nap thrown in here and there for good measure.
