hockey woes

No hockey for Hamilton.

Please don't get all indignant on me. I know there are hockey teams here. I've even been to a few Bulldogs games.

(Which puts me in a real pickle, by the way. Am I supposed to cheer for the Bulldogs, because they're in Hamilton? Or am I supposed to not cheer for the Bulldogs, because they're the farm team for the Habs-our-sworn-enemies?)

But there's no NHL team for Hamilton. No reason to stop cheering for the Leafs.

(Again, I know there are all kinds of reasons to stop cheering for the Leafs. But in this house, only geography will change that.)

Ah well. The B & B Conflict (Balsillie & Bettman) was an exciting diversion over the summer; far more exciting for me than the actual game of hockey. I just wanted my town to get a shot of excitement. I wanted my property value to increase a little bit.

And I wanted new hockey bling in the basement.

you could always try to "fancy up" the leaf bling in the basement....

...like a stensil decal on a terracotta planter, and maybe some crushed velvet pillow shams, maybe a knotted style mat for the bottom of the stairs?

if that doesnt work, there's always the classic disco ball? no?

I like the Bulldogs even if they are the farm team of the Hab Nots!

I think hockey paraphanalia has gotten out of hand. Leafs toilet paper? Leafs Boxers? A Leafs thong? OMG!

ahahahaha... crushed velvet. priceles!

Watching the Bulldogs is just too painful because of all the missed passes. It drives me crazy.

I think the biggest achievement of this whole saga was when the NHL admitted that this would be the fifth-best hockey market in the NHL... it's really put Hamilton on the map for that in a way they weren't officially before. Whether the Leafs let anything happen... who knows.

I am not quite comfortable with leaving the impression out there that there is a Leafs thong in this house... Anonymous, perhaps YOU are the one with the undies secret??
